3 Questions to Ask to Take Your Town for Christ

Have you heard of massive fires that started with just one spark? I have. I want to introduce you to a spark that will cause an extravagant blazing fire in your town.

When we stop to think clearly about who God is and His purpose is for His Church, we should begin to ponder something magnificent–something way beyond ourselves. I’m confident that your local church has the ability to take your town for Christ with His gospel. And I believe it starts with one person asking 3 simple questions.

1. Do I believe God is all-powerful?

2. Do I believe God dwells in me?

3. Do I believe God wants this?

Those 3 questions may seem a bit elementary, I know. But let’s talk about true purpose for a minute.

Abraham Lincoln once said, “Adhere to your purpose and you will soon feel as well as you ever did. On the contrary, if you falter, and give up, you will lose the power of keeping any resolution, and will regret it all your life.”

If we were to get back to our basics then we must conclude that the purpose of the Church is to make disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus. Plain and simple.

Yet our purpose in local churches are easily swayed. It’s so easy for this to happen–life’s many details seem to cloud our vision for what we started out to accomplish in the first place.

Think for a minute: What is the current purpose of your local church? Don’t answer with the purpose statement that is written on paper, but answer with the true, practical purpose. (Unless your real purpose matches your written purpose!) What is your church doing the most right now? What is the main focus? What is talked about the most from the pulpit, Sunday school classrooms, and so on? Is there a main focus? Is there purpose?

Now imagine 10 people in your church who have become zealous for bringing the lifesaving gospel to people in your community. Imagine your church growing by 50 new people in one month because of these 10 zealous believers’ evangelistic methods. Imagine 20 zealous believers doing this. Can you see your church growing by conversion because of 30 passionate Christians bringing in 100 new believers? Do you believe this can happen? Do you believe it should?

It takes one spark to start a massive, billowing fire. It’s just like Paul’s message to Timothy, “stir up the gift of God which is in you.” This gift is contagious. It gets other people moving, too.

One spark must ask those 3 questions. Truthfully. And then act on the truth.

I want to introduce you to that one spark.

It is YOU.

Do you believe?

So what’s holding you back?

Question: What is holding you back? Fear? Stress? Life? I would love to interact with you! Feel free to comment below.

    What’s holding me back?

A full time job that keeps me busy all day (6-7 days a week) and a family to look after (3 kids and non-working wife). No money. No time. Lack of proper Word-training.

    Now hit me back..

LOL!! I hear ya, brutha! First of all, don’t let your wife see your comment!

Here’s my “back-atcha”: No money needed to evangelize, you can be trained for free at http://www.act111.org, it takes only 1 hour (can be broken into segments of 15 minutes), and you can share the gospel at your work!

      Thoughts?
